The Story of Us: A Marriage Enrichment Weekend Retreat

Want to enrich your marriage? Find new ways to connect? Learn skills to help you avoid common pitfalls in committed relationships? If so, then join Dr. Alexander for a marriage enrichment weekend retreat. Dr. Alexander has been helping couples become more connected for the past 35 years. He is an experienced workshop leader who shares his insights with warmth and wisdom. The retreat will be co-facilitated by Kevin Ruth Davis, LCSW. Ms. Davis is the founder and past director of the Clinical Training Institute at the United Family Services. She has been in private practice for forty years and is an internationally-recognized educator in Internal Family Systems.

 Learn how to:

  • Adopt a growth oriented “marital mindset”
  • Apply the Big 3 to your marriage: Positive bias, emotional regulation and empathy
  • Enhance your love story
  • Uncover and address the one real fight in marriage
  • Stop conflict in its tracks
  • Learn to make an effective apology
  • Find novel ways to connect
  • Increase sexual satisfaction
  • Re-discover your marital purpose

Dr. Alexander skillfully combines didactic material with ice-breakers, movie clips, couple and group discussion, popular music and the use of a personal journal to bring couples closer. The weekend allows couples to absorb and practice skills that might take months to master in couple counseling. The primary goal is to leave the weekend retreat with a new “felt” experience of your partner resulting in softened conflict and enhanced connection.
